I am immensely proud and privileged to lead our all through Unity Academy and to work with our enthusiastic students, ambitious staff, supportive parents and committed governors. I hope that you will enjoy looking at our website and seeing a flavour of the many exciting learning opportunities we offer for our young people.
We are very fortunate to have excellent learning facilities for all our students. Having been completely transformed since 2014, we now offer bright, modern and engaging facilities for all our students from the age of 2 to 16. Our motto is that “In Unity, we succeed” and this encompasses our desire to achieve success in all aspects of school life. At Unity we strive to define, desire, demand and deliver success for all our students. As such, we have high expectations and work tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people.
Unity Academy is also about much more than this alone; we provide exciting learning opportunities for all our students both inside and outside the classroom, with a commitment to enriching our student’s lives with as many varied and exciting opportunities as possible. We offer a rich extra-curricular programme with opportunities to engage in sport, music and drama amongst many other areas. As a relatively small school of around 900 students we are able to get to know our young people very well, focussing on their individual needs and working in partnership with parents and carers.
We are sponsored by the Fylde Coast Academies Trust (FCAT) and have been since 2014. With the support of FCAT we have already rapidly improved outcomes for young people and I am delighted to report that our most recent external results at both Key Stages 2 and 4 demonstrate that, on average, students who attend Unity make more progress than their counterparts at other schools in the country.
We are incredibly proud of the progress the academy has made over the last few years. It really is an honour to lead such a vibrant and dynamic school community as we continue to work together to strive for greater success because “In Unity, we succeed.”
