Teacher of Girls PE
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Start Date: 27th August 2019
This post represents an ideal opportunity for a candidate eager to join a well-resourced and enthusiastic PE department teaching across our all through academy. This post has arisen through the secondment and subsequent permanent appointment of a member of staff to a role at another academy within the multi academy trust. We are keen to appoint someone to deliver girls PE to students in Y7 to 11 and mixed PE lessons to students throughout the primary years within the academy. Our unique all through PE curriculum and commitment to maintaining at least 2 hours of core PE for all students makes this an ideal opportunity for a teacher keen to progress.
The academy has invested heavily in PE and sports facilities over the last few years with a refurbished sports hall, dance studio, gym, MUGA and outdoor gym. The academy has also just opened a state of the art 3G pitch; this replaces an existing grass pitch and provides all year round facilities for students. The department is committed to ongoing professional development of teachers through coaching and mentoring, the ability to teach a second subject would be desirable.
The successful candidate will have experience of delivering high quality lessons to a wide range of students; this will ensure that we continue to provide a high quality education for all children in a caring, inclusive environment. We would welcome applications from those with prior experience aswell as newly qualified teachers. A full and comprehensive package of training, mentoring and coaching will be provided. Unity Academy has a supportive staff team who work together to ensure that the school motto is clearly articulated and we demonstrate that In Unity, we succeed.
Unity Academy is an all through school for children aged 5-16 and as such an awareness of curriculum coverage across all phases of education is required, PE teachers are required to teach across the age and ability range.
