Vision, Values and Strategies at our Academies Away-Day
Blackpool De Vere Hotel was the setting for the second Away-Day of our Fylde Coast Academy Trust. Throughout a packed agenda, delegates were set a number of challenges and tasks around the areas of core values, understanding new progress/attainment measures and identifying best practice within our academies. Keynote presentations were given by senior leaders Deborah Hanlon-Catlow and Stephen Cooke of Aspire and Unity Academies respectively, who spoke with passion about the new curriculum measures that we are about to embrace. Delegates received an interesting update on current attendance strategies across the local authority from Natasha Armstead and Anne Kenyon. Dr. David Sanders – Education Consultant and former Executive Director of Blackpool Childrens’ Services, explained in great detail the work of our local Safeguarding Board and reiterated the need for the safety of children to be the responsibility of each and every one of us.
In their concluding remarks, Directors - Chris McConnachie and John Boyle thanked all delegates for their attendance and contributions, hoping that the recently appointed academy governors found the Away-Day informative and engaging.
